DCs Update May 2012

21 May 2012

May 2012

Sectional meetings are being well attended and the next one is at the Burleydam on 20th June. For the first time I was able to go to the Cheshire Hike presentations and it was good to see so many teams from our district taking part. We were very lucky with the weather for our St George’s celebrations at Hadlow. We managed to stay dry! The service and camp fire were very enjoyable and thanks to everyone who helped.Lots of leaders attended the county practical skills day and enjoyed it even if  they didn’t do exactly what they thought they had signed up for! The weather was good for JOTT and we had over 100 young people from all sections walking to Thurstaston. Some took longer than others! Thanks to Terry and Lee for again cooking sausages! Most groups are doing the Cheshire Challenge and it is good to see groups working together. Hopefully this will help with moving between the sections.1st Great sutton have worked hard  to restore the garden at Whetstone Hey Care Home as part of Scout Community Week and this will be officially opened on 26th May by Andrew Miller in time for the residents to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. hopefully the weather will now improve ready for summer activities and camps.
